- Adoption Fee: $275
- This is payment for the adoption of Chevy!
- We are thrilled that you chose to adopt a new member of the family from us. And he’s such a great dog! Watching him get in your car and head to Dallas was really touching. We work hard saving hundreds of pets in need each year and it’s excoting for us when they‘ve found their forever people!
- Please contact us anytime with questions, concerns, and especially updates on how things are going. Volunteers worked closely with Chevy and would love to learn what he’s been up to while living as part of your family!
- Pictures, videos, stories of activities, milestones, and anything you want to share at any point would mean a lot to us.

- As you know, Chevy is a new tripod & requires some extra attention to help him build muscle, strength, and confidence. He’s been quite sedentary since the surgery, causing loss of muscle mass, weakness, and low stamina. This can be remedied easily with regular exercise. I know you want him hitting the trails with you!
- For lack of a better term, the stump that remains on his surgical leg aides in helping his balance and mobility, overall. As he begins to move more regularly, for longer periods of time, the muscle in the stump should build-up as well. It will help to keep both hips better proportioned, and more evenly balanced, protecting the spine.
- Gaining even a small amount of weight greatly affects a tripod’s ability to move easily and will cause them pain. Monitoring his weight will continue throughout his life.
- If for any reason, at anytime, something changes and you are unable to keep Chevy as part of your family, though we’ll be disappointed for everyone, we do understand that this may be a possibility. If it is, we want you to contact us right away to let us know about the change in circumstances. We will work with you, no questions asked, and make arrangements to take him back into our care as soon as possible. We ask that you not rehome him yourselves; he is to come back to SPAR. - However, In case you know of a trusted candidate to adopt Chevy, please tell us, and we will quickly contact them and start the adoption process!
Casie and Zak
Congratulations on the adoption of your new Scout! We all think it’s a cool name for him. I know you will give him a happy life by keeping him safe, healthy, and included in where life takes you & what you’re doing. Scout getting to live with two cats and your beautiful Lexie is the cherry on top!
Casie, thanks for convincing me to trust your confidence in introducing Scout to your cats. I’m so glad I was really smart too & took a chance on the right person! ! LOL!
I wish y'all every happiness as Scout’s forever guardians.
Please keep in touch,
Kim
